In this page I will address the areas of interaction question what are the consequencences of a technological innovation, both positve and negative. The technological innovation in this case are siege weapons what would have happened if the Romans had not invented them. Than the world would be a lot different, there might not have been a Roman empire, as these weapons where instrumental in most of the Romans victories. We would have lost one of the most influential societies of all time, but the fact that they where made means a lot of people died.
The Roman army did not have a lot of influence on army's after the fall of the empire. With the Knight, the Roman tactics could no longer be used because warfare no longer relied on foot soldiers but on Cavalry ( Rome did have Calvary but never developed it) . The Romans did influence medieval siege weapons like catapults and siege towers, even battering rams.

All of these design where there for the tribes of Europe to take once the Roman empire fell, and they did. Of course the tribes made some modifications, as they advanced technologically, but the designs the Romans pioneered were still the same, and the methods of taking a town or village didn’t come out of nowhere, they had the Romans before them. The tribes of Europe probably took these ideas in the first place because they saw how effective they where when used angst them by the Romans.
